Canon Sound Sculptures

Dentsu London, makers of the ingenious iPad light painting app, have just finished this amazing campaign for Canon's PIXMA colour printer range. Using a combination of sound waves and high speed photography they captured surreal ‘sound sculptures’ made of dancing droplets of paint.

The project was made in conjunction with Linden Gledhill an American who has been experimenting with paint and sound sculptures for a while.

The sculptures were created by stretching a light membrane over a speaker. Drops of paint were added and different frequencies were used to achieve a range of effects.

These experiments produced some amazing results.

A bizarre, disturbing and hilarious blog full of random pics. I love the clown in the speedboat... I want a speedboat.

There's something I really like about William Hundley's floating objects... not to sure about the Chiwahwa balanced on cheeseburgers though.

Loving these photographic illustrations by Martin Wilson. The one above is my favorite but check out his site for some really interesting typographic pieces.
