IDEO: The Future of Books

This amazing video from IDEO explores the future of books. Demonstrating three different types of interactive book models, Alice, the third and final app is probably the most relevant to us in the advertising world. It explores how an interactive experience could lead to immersive, non-linear stories involving everything from hidden features, geo-location, and video. Imagine the creative opportunities for brands!

Friday Videos

It's Friday, and we all know what that means... it means videos! So I have compiled a small collection of videos that made me stare when I should have been working (shhh).

The last video is an amazing video by BERG and advertising agency Dentsu London that explores the idea of taking mobile app technology and applying it to different surfaces. A brilliant and insightful vision of the not so distant future.

The Independent

There is some great work being done for the elections across the water. Last week I mentioned Glue London's work for The Green Party and Martin Petts Voter Power Index and today I wanted to share this well made ad for The Independent. Enjoy.

Direct Video Manipulation

I found this very interesting piece of technology this morning on Dom O'Briens blog. The video above explains it all and the Wrangler site is a nice example of this nifty technology in use. Through some clever use of the C# language, the technology lets user drag elements of the video. It feels like you're directly manipulating the video. Very cool and well worth a watch.

I found this through the excellent swissmiss blog and there's a lot of things I like about it. We suggested doing something similar but all to ad-landy for a client of ours. They didn't go with it in the end but I know it would never have turned out as honest as this. I'm glad it's that song too. I have no idea what the song is. If anyone does please let me know. Children In Need

I really like this idea from the UK for Children in Need. I'm not old enough (thankfully) to remember all of them. Apparently it took 2 years to get all the permissions and 9 months to make.
