Shameless Friends Blog Promotion
My friend Rory has set up his blog The Next Post Will Be Great (I'm jealous of his name. The blog's name of course, not his). He's a planner and a damn good one at that. So if you want to read ad thingys from the POV of our planner friends it's well worth checking his blog out. It will also put him under pressure to post regularly and with interesting material.

Awesome Parents

This blog My Parents Were Awesome is awesome and so are the parents on it. I hope if I ever have kids they'll look back and think the same of me.

How to get into the mind of your ahem... lovely client. It's good to be reminded that there are people on the other side and they care about the work as much as you do. Know your enemy.

This came through my Google Reader this morning from crackunit.com...in his own words " WWF put 1,000 ice men on the steps of Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin last Wednesday. They melted." A powerful and simple piece me thinks.

The second issue of ITSNICETHAT has just gone on sale on the site. Having missed out on the first one I swiftly made my purchase and got a nifty print from Bob Ryan for my eagerness.

I think I'm beginning to figure out how to use Twitter. Today, after some brief browsing and clicking I discovered 3 new blogs. After surfing through each of them I've added them to my links on the right and my own Reader feed. So enough waffle here they are:
CREATIVEAPPLICATIONS A blog centering mainly around iPhone apps and development. This is an area I'm very interested in. Where technology and humanity meet.
ACE JET 170 I haven't explored this fully yet but after a brief skim I found some very interesting typographic items and illustration.
CRACKUNIT A blog written by one of the partners of POKE NY. This is where I found the two blogs above amongst other interesting things.

Smashing Magazine. The inspiration part of this site is really cool. I found this poster in the 100 independent film posters section.

I read about this guy in Computer Arts this month. When it comes to self promotion this guy is the king. He's turned his name into an international brand, and produced some really cool work. Especially this logo for Mash a bike company. I think I'll be taking a few pointers from him. Benny Gold.

wellmedicated.com has a really nice collection of vintage horror posters. The rest of the blog is worth checking out as well as an excellent reference for all things advertising and design.
