Slow Down App

The Slow Down App from OVK uses the GPS on your smartphone to recognise whether you're driving above or below the speed limit: if you drive below the music slows down; if you drive above the music stops altogether until you return to the current speed limit.

A pretty clever use of GPS technology in my opinion: using the senses to indicate a violation of the speed limit, and receiving a reward (the return of your kickin' tunes) as an incentive to drive correctly.

Maybe there are more applications for GPS controlling functions on your phone? One idea might be to not allow any incoming or outgoing calls when the GPS registers the car as moving, but once the car comes to a stop all calls are allowed.

Or a site seeing app, where you program your route into the GPS, indicate the places you'd like the phone to take photos of, say a mountain range, and then set off on your journey safe in the knowledge that you don't have to stop to take photos. You could of course just set it up to document a journey if you wanted to be arty.

Thoughts?

P.S Is it me or is that Mr. Wogan narrating the video?
