HumanApi, Sports ECG in real life from uxebu on Vimeo. I found this very intesting video through BBHLab's twitter feed. I could try rewrite the description but instead here it is in the blogs own words:
"Combining a fitness heart rate monitor, an Arduino board, and a specialized mobile application, developer Nikolai Onken has built a prototype for what he calls the HumanAPI. The prototype collects heart rate data, transmitting it via bluetooth to the application where it is plotted in real time. The project is similar to other emerging systems which capture and monitor biometric information effortlessly; helping expand our understanding of ‘API’ by illustrating how everything can and should be considered a source of useful information."
I don't know if I'd like to be that aware of my mortality but the medical and sports fitness applications for "Human as API" are very interesting. As the man in the video says visit the website and download the source for yourself.
