Disappointment

I picked up a copy of Adrian Shaughnessy's new book yesterday. I began by reading it from the start to the end in sequential order, as you do. But then, curiosity got the better of me and I quickly skipped onto the Advertising Design and Art Direction sections (don't judge me). I liked his piece on centred text and how all advertising design tends to look the same. In fact I liked everything I read. So much so I stayed up way to late and now I'm in a really bad mood.

Continuing on my advertising related literature binge I also picked up a copy of this month's Creative Review and discovered two disappointing things. Firstly the "incredible dissolving bag" seems to only apply to the UK release of the magazine, which as previous stated, I found quite disappointing. But, just in case I'd got it horribly wrong I did attempt to dissolve my bag in hot water. This was not successful and I remain disappointed. Here are some pictures as proof.

Secondly I read their article on agency workspaces and realised that, to be honest and somewhat harsh, the agency I work in is pretty shit when it comes to looks.

So in the spirit of "doing something about it" I sent CR an little note on their packaging and printed of the article to present to my CD, who in turn promised to "do something about it".
